GTA IV Update / New devWEAR!!!

Journal Entry: Thu May 1, 2008, 10:07 PM
Don't worry, it's just a robbery!

Update: Sooooo, that game is fucking crazy. I'm at 10.5 hours playing time completed only 12.41% of the game. It's easy to get carried away between actual missions, so there. One can really waste hours of mindless fun and not accomplish anything, besides maybe making some money and upping stats. My gameplay experience is way better by now. Some of the controls are still a hassle but it just takes a bit of self-programming. The radio stations are cool as usual and some fo the talks on them are just hilarious. America's Next Top Hooker? Right on! My favorite station is Liberty City Hardcore, which to my amazement has some Agnostic front and Sick Of It All!
I checked online play too but I don't like that in general. There are a dozen of modes though so I guess anyone who likes playing online with others will get a kick out of it.

Another PS3 (and PSP) game worth to check out is the brand new Echochrome, which involves a mannequin figure traversing a rotatable world occupied by Oscar Reutersvärd's impossible constructions, inspired by M. C. Escher's artwork. I checked the demo last week and as plain as the game looks, it's definitely something new and mind twisting. I might just get the full game from the PSN Store.

So Grand Theft Auto IV finally launched today. I got my Special Edition delivered at around noon my time.

I haven't played much yet, maybe an hour or two, but if I had to sum this game up with a few words, at would be "massive" and "complex". Massive is good, complex isn't so much my thing as far as video games go. For example, the vehicle physics are a bit too realistic for my taste and just driving around the huge city isn't much fun, at least not yet.
And then you have to engage in social activities with game characters, like dating chicks, taking them out, trying not to damage their cars (*check*) and crap like that. I hope I'll grow into it because this game is just full of awesome stuff. I'm just glad I don't have to direct Niko to take a shit before going to sleep to save the game progress...
Another aspect that annoys me is the camera work. I seriously fucking hate games in which I as the player have to control the fucking camera. Like I'm not busy enough playing the game!
As for technical aspects, it looks good and sounds good. The graphics look pretty decent, and the soundtrack / radio stations are fucking A+ as usual for GTA. Hell even just the loading screens are nice to look at. I hope someone's gonna figure out how to rip all those out of the game for desktop wallpaper use.

GT 5 Prologue got boring pretty fast, and so did C&C3: Kane's Wrath. Last night I started playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R. again because version 2 of the Oblivion Lost mod was released. If you have S.T.A.L.K.E.R., trying this mod is a must! It's seriously way better than the vanilla version of the game.

The BBC's Planet Earth documentary series i got on Blu-Ray the other week is absolutely fucking amazing, and not just visually! It made me realize that everything in nature happens in harmonic and balanced cycles, only us humans as a whole are a fucking virus that destroys more life than it creates, and I don't count every idiot putting children into this overpopulated world as a positive thing in that regard.

dA wise, some huge things are in works on multiple fronts and pretty soon they'll launch like a huge blast. Keep an eye on $spyed's journals and gallery for teasing.
I got a fat order of new prints last week to check out the new Kodak paper and to replace some old prints on my walls and all I can say is if you thought our prints were sexy before, the new paper makes them an orgy. And when we launch our new *cough* ______ *cough* it will be just pornographic, but in a good non-obscene way. You actually might have seen "it" already. :D
I also got a new wicked mousepad cos I got tired of my black one, and a new sexy fridge magnet.

Lastly, a new Cutting Edge contest is running, check below for sexy thumbs and a sexy chance to win one of them!

ps.: If the site's being laggy for you, that's because $lolly's facial rain forest got caught in a server!
